p3d is a general data-reduction tool for use with fiber-fed integral-field spectrographs (IFSs). The tool is built about the proprietary software IDL (EXELIS; see
http://www.exelisvis.com), but does not require any license when it is used as it is.

p3d works on all platforms that are supported by IDL. p3d can be used with full functionality without an IDL license. Optimal extraction, including correction for so-called cross-talk. Flux calibration can be done both interactively and non interactively. Can correct data for differential atmospheric refraction. Single images are cleaned of cosmic-ray hits - using a new IFS-specific approach. Time-consuming tasks are implemented in compiled C, using OpenMP. Information on all operations are (optionally) saved to a log file. p3d currently supports thirteen IFUs - more can be added on request. Calar Alto 3.5m / PMAS (LARR+PPAK, old and new CCD). Allows use of either a master-bias or prescan and overscan bias regions. Output data cubes (ver. >=2.2) can be viewed with the CASA viewer. The spectrum viewer can be used with all output of the "CALIFA" data-reduction pipeline. All files have the prefix p3d_, i.e. no interference with other IDL programs.
