Will there be a configuration table in the future?
I am planning to update openemr fo version 3.2 from 3.0. but it took me a while to get to know the new globals.php. Wow, there were so many new parameter to turn off and on. It makes my head spin ;-)
I wish that all the new parameters are in the form of a data table with toggle off and on to be more user friendly and that one won't have to mess with the globals.php any more. That would be nice.
Just my 2 cents.

What about FREEZING globals.php. development now? All new parameters will be in the new table. That way no one has to go back and mess with the source code. Future update would be much easier. My 2 cents!

hey,
This is huge and is very easy for developers to add new settings (simply add to library/globals.inc.php ), Pimm, try the demo now, somebody likely selected another theme which made the text small. Agree that a manual and wiki page would be very useful. Unknown when 4.0 release will be; likely anywhere from 2-6 months.

hey,
Committed fix for the auto setting of the web path in interface/globals.php in Windows (the path separators need to be converted to avoid bunch of issues).

Long standing wish from all of us, no one has volunteered to take it on as yet.

I hereby volunteer. Seeing as how I have a client to sponsor the work. :-)
Stay tuned!

No need to freeze it. We'll do that after the alternative is in place. Messing with source code is what I do.

That's a great news for all of us. Thanks!

hey,
very cool. Listed you as active on the associated project proposal in the wiki (it's only a previous proposal, and i'm obviously not expecting you to follow the proposal; feel free to either modify the text or feel free to ignore it); just nice to show this is actively being worked on:

Thanks Brady! The proposal page definitely conveys the spirit of it. More to come.

Just a note that the first round of this is done. You can see it in the CVS development demo at http://www.openmedsoftware.org/wiki/Development_Demo . Go to Administration -> Globals.

THis Demo is for real Experienced Developers adn Users, since on my screen some of teh text is barely visble .
But what I saw is beyond expectation.
I would suggest the option Default for Team Users and Default for IPPF etc …….. if possible.
An other option would be a Gllbals Manual.
This is for the V4.0 Version and when will this be scheduled?
