I do not know how to get the paragraphs or newlines to work. I tried the \\ and \\* and \newline but it does not work for me. I use ooolatex 4.0 beta 2, and it is set to display type with the png image export. Clearance on the subject would be appreciated.

I'm having the same problem, but the Config box is pointing to all the correct directories. When I try to install MSYS, it doesn't ask me where MinGW is. It says:
C:\msys\1.0\postinstall>..\bin\sh.exe pi.sh

Anyone have problems with the
\mathtt fonts rendered using EMF? They don't look like the right font and get clipped on the top.

Thanks for the reply and I apologize for my late acknowledgment. Yeah, manually tweaking won't help me at all since I'm moving these documents between Mac and Windows platform--can't tweak it everytime I want to use one computer or the other. Works reasonably well on Mac. Not so on Windows. Now, in addition to the size problems the fonts are just completely borked up, like pi turning into...

Because of this problem, I've changed the default character size to 14 (when using a document at 12) and when I don't like the position of the equation I manually adjust it using alt-arrows
I've tried changing all kinds of settings, but no good. Something is wrong with the algorithm that calculates the proper height and width of the box.

OOoLatex is a very nice and useful tool! Thanx!
I use it to prepare drawings for pdflatex talks (beamer class). Against that
background two suggestions come to my mind:
- I would like to use OOoLatex within OpenOffice Draw as well. There are some
features, e.g., layers that are only available in Draw but not in Impress.
- I did not manage to generate boldface vector...

I'm confirming this issue.
The same workaround can be achieved via terminal. Run terminal and type:
metacity --replace
Install missing dictionaries in OO and then go back to terminal (if the metacity --replace is still running, then press ctrl+c to stop it) and type:
compiz --replace.
