Hello, Launchy indexes my content perfectly, I can call up launchy with a customised hotkey combo, but Launchy will not "Launch" any documets. It will launch programs in my start menu, but will not launch say word when I hit enter on a .doc file indexed and found by Launchy. Can anyone shed some light on this please?

In my case some shorcuts from the start menu don't work. For example I installed VirtualBox, and it doesn't start when I use launchy. I need to start the shortcut from the menu Startup on WIndows.

      I'm using Windows 7 x64

Same here. Can't launch some shortcuts, for example, uTorrent.

I'm having the exact same problem. Using Win 7 x64 and my VirtualBox shortcut wont work with Launchy. I've tried re-creating and renaming the shortcut, but it still doesn't work.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From what I've seen it only is an issue for applications that are under \Program Files\
    not
    \Program Files (x86)\
Hopefully we can get a fix for this soon

Errrm ths is a little more fundamental. Unfortunately Launchy is a 32bit app and as such is not currently compatible with 64 bit operating systems. Whilst it will run on a 64bit app it will only be able to launch 32bit applications.

There is a 64 bit build under the Beta forum. This is not a perfect build and installing it disables access to control panel apps.

Not sure if a proper 64 bit version will ever be released as things have gone a bit quiet.

Similar problem here.  I'm running Vista x64.  Launchy can find "Uninstall Spybot" but not "Spybot".  Pretty weird.  Spybot is a 32 bit program.

UPDATED: I am currently running Windows 7 x64 and I have multiple programs running great. Here's what I did:

    1. Open Launchy
    2. Right Click Launchy and click "Options"
    3. Click "Catalog" tab at the top.
    4. Add the following 2 folders to the right side "Directories"
                    a. "C:\Program Files (x86)"
                    b. "C:\Program Files"
    5. After adding both select each of them and make sure the "include executables" on the left hand side is selected.
    6. Rebuild / Rescan

    Complete! uTorrent works :D

Yipp, same problem here. No 64 bit link is accessable, only 32 bit apps will launch. When will this bug be fixed?

Can we check that the problem is the same. I assume your 64bit applications appear when you begin to type their name but when you try and launch the matching 64bit application .lnk file, the icon is incorrect and it fails to launch the app?

If this is the case then I have managed to get mine working although this is an interim fix until they can fully integrate this app with x64 OS. I just added C:\program files to the catalog tab and performed a rescan. Ok so all my 64bit apps are in duplicate but the correct ones are easy to spot as they have the correct icon and launch perfectly.

I just purchased a windows 7 64-bit laptop and have been having all kinds of problems due to (I think) Launchy.  First, it was freezing intermittently when I launched apps with Launchy, then it started to freeze consistently after a few minutes.  Uninstalled Launchy and it started to work fine.  My problem could have been caused by Trend Micro security as well…I can't really narrow down the problem and now that it's fixed, I don't want to experiment…

I am running the Launchy 2.5 Beta 1 (check out the beta forum) on my M1330, which is running Win7 64bit and it works perfectly.I previously had the 32bit installed and that caused no issues too. I would look to at something else causing your problems. Drivers are the biggest cause of issues with Win7 x64

True, I can confirm that Launchy x86 built from SVN (ver. 2.5.0 beta 3 in my case) has no issues mentioned above any longer. However I managed to compile the 64 bit version of Launchy as well, yepieee! so glad to have version native to my operation system.

Any of you tried using launchy to start a .bat-file starting the main program?
Examplen (contents of Photoshop.bat, add whatever app you want):

    @echo off
    cd "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 Bit)"
    Photoshop.exe

    template.bat

    @echo off
    cd "<program directory>"
    "<program name.extension>"

I had a hunch and was able to confirm it.

The problem is that Launchy is only launching files that it's links point to files that are not hidden.

This is what I did and it worked. From the command prompt unhide Launchy:

    C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy>attrib spybotsd.exe -r -s -h
    C:\Program Files\Spybot - Search & Destroy>attrib spybotsd.exe +r +s

Hiding the file and hitting Rescan Catalog in Options >> Catalog hid the file from Launchy again. I had to show the file again to make it work.

Note: The attrib command is a DOS command that changes file attributes. You can't change system or hidden or read-only attribues if you right-click on a file in Windows and remove the attribute option from the Properties panel.
