fruMailer is a cross platform MUA written in both Java and Perl. The GUI is based off of the toolbar-and-windows idea behind the GIMP.
To further my programming knowledge and increase the cross-platformness of frumailer, I've switched over to java. Check it out, it's almost as functional as win32-0.3 or linux-0.121....some new stuff. --oakwise
