Yes - the extracted directory (with proper name!) should be placed in .....\eclipse\plugins\. If you want to use some other chips, you'd need XML files for them, just like the ones for LM.

Thanks for that advice,
do i simply have to copy this extracted directory into the < install directory >/plugins directory?
i tried eclipse: Help -> Software Updates... -> add Site -> Local and chose the "org.eclipse.cdt.embsysregview_0.1.0.jar" directory.
but i got the same error message (no repository found at...)
or, do i have to simply import the plugin.xml file?

Extract the jar file (with 7-zip for example) to a directory named "org.eclipse.cdt.embsysregview_0.1.0.jar" (with the .jar at the end!) and it should work fine. This way you'll be able do modify the config files. You can alternatively just put the jar file in the plugins folder of Eclipse, but then you won't be able to edit the configs.

Won't be able to do a release till next week, cause I don't have a dev environment here.

I've added two patches to Tracker / Patches - I don't know whether that's a good place... Take a look and consider committing them to the trunk (and maybe doing a release). I've tested them, and everything works fine here.
