Double Commander

Double Commander is a cross platform open source file manager with two panels side by side. It is inspired by Total Commander and features some new ideas.

Built in file viewer (F3) to view files of in hex, binary or text format
Internal text editor (F4) with syntax hightlighting
Archives are handled like subdirectories. You can easily copy files to and from archives. Supported archive types: ZIP, TAR, GZ, BZ2, XZ, ZST, LZMA, 7Z and also RPM, CPIO, DEB, RAR, ZIPX
Most operations working in background
Extended search function with full text search in any files
Configurable button bar to start external programs or internal menu commands
Total Commander WCX, WDX, WFX and WLX plug-ins support
FTP, FTPS, FTPES, SSH+SCP and SFTP protocols support

It' s great! Haven' t checked to see if i can use FTP with it yet, but have been looking for a replacement for Krusader which we have been using for many years now but can no longer get with our Plasma 6 install. It's really easy to use. Thanks so much for making and developing it! :)

This is a very solid file manager on its own, although the default theme settings are ugly, and new user needs to extensively adjust settings provided to fix this (but once it's done it looks amazing).

Double Commander already enabled you to change the text and background color of the file list, so that you could have a dark background and light text for folder and file names. Now, after introducing dark mode for the whole program, Double Commander is perfection in its class of software, as far as I'm concerned.

Came across this app about a month ago and it's a breath of fresh air with the lagginess of the Windows 11 file explorer. Thanks for a great product!
