I too would love disc rotate 0.4 to work, but with the dvd reader of my MacPro it doesn't get any results. Here's what the dvd tester says :

I accidentally installed disc rotate on my imac24". None of my drives is supported by disc rotate, I was never able to run the software. I need to deinstall discrotate. How?
This is the report I get:

I'm not quite sure but I believe since installing DR the spin-down timer has been broken or disabled by DR, i.e. the disc will endlessly spin although there's no access by the OS. Originally OS X spins down the drive if it's not needed.

As for the followup, when the daemon crashes or gets killed manually, launchd will bring it back up. Thats actually a feature.

For me the same. Sometimes the Daemon crashes (as in situations described above) but I'm unable to restart or to quit it. Not by activity monitor nor by terminal command. The fucking daemon just keeps living till I shut down the whole machine...
But still I really love your app!

Disc Rotate works occasionally on my OSX 10.4.11 macbook.
Some details would help to troubleshoot/document behavior...
What does activate button do?
Need to re-boot, close apps to effect change?.

i have had the daemon crash 3 times, while i've just been testing DiscRotate out. i'm using v0.4beta, on 10.4.10 on a first gen macbook.
first was after starting the StatusItem and then clicking the status icon - the icon highlighted, and then the system dialog appeared saying that DiscRotateDaemon needed to be shut down. after that, clicking the status icon just...
