  • Does exactly what it's supposed to do: First there is some captcha-like human input, which might take some minutes, depending on the consistency of the source pdf. Then you click a button and - done! It's not perfect, as the batches can include pages which are too much to the left or to the right in reference to the other pages in the same batch, resulting in cropped out text. In addition, the pages of the final product are only cropped visibly. When a page is selected in my pdf reader, I can see, that the selected element still spans over the original size of the corresponding page. A workaround I tried and tested is to print the document that is a product of briss to pdf, and then ocr scan it. All in all, it does what is says on the tin and for an open source software its amazing. It is not flawless and - as all openly available software - should be used cautiously (RE: the rating about confidentiality issues).
  • Muy bueno
  • Very helpful tool. i was asked to prepare scanned book as PDF, and for my surprise book was scanned as two pages in a scan. Briss easily solved the problem. Application is very simple. Lacks advanced features but it works just fine and does the job perfectly.
  • It's a really useful program. I can read pdfs better on my e-reader now. However, I must note that the margins are just hidden, for some reason, and they will appear or not deppending on your display/print configuration. I advice everyone to be careful about it and not crop confidential content like our friend on the comments.
  • It's an amazing tool. Free, can be used on any OS, works fine
  • It still works in 2019! I tested the cropping feature on Windows 10.
  • I had a project which was just to split a pdf which had been scanned alternate pages in booklet format into single pages. I searched for software that would do it and got one price of £599 and another piece of software at £69. This software did it for free, there was a bit of reorganisation to be done with the split, but I suspect that was down to my lack of knowledge rather than the software. Excellent piece of work and a donation will follow. Thank You
  • Excellent! Started using this shortly after 0.9 came out. It's been good ever since, still working on the latest Win10, June 2018. Small learning curve, but pretty easy. Thank you!
  • Nice!
  • Oh, that it were everyday I find software such as Briss. If I had found this first I would have saved a couple of hours of trying online programs to crop PDF's. According to Adobe, cropping a PDF only hides content. Some reviews mention this software does the same. From my tests and checking finished page size at PDF print time, I disagree. I started with a 9.5 by 12 page with crop marks and after I ran the document through Briss, it was a resized document of 8.5 by 11. It printed perfectly. Quick and Easy to use. A bit primitive in appearance - yes. But given that it does what it says, I really don't care what it looks like. Bravo!

  • Awesome tool, works beautifully!
  • Perfect.
  • Awesome!! I needed to crop a 250+ page airplane manual that had been scanned with huge margins on 3 sides. Ended up downloading this tool and it worked perfectly. I was able to make a nice, tight crop without losing any data due to the overlay/preview functionality in Briss. 5/5!

  • Fits the job - lightweight and easy to use, needs java though. However, it should be noted that (like some other tools) content only gets masked and not really cropped. (see one star rating)
  • Me fascinó, muy fácil de usar, muchas gracias y felicitaciones a los desarrolladores.

  • The right tool for bulk cropping.
  • Very good and quick to use. Just only one trouble: I used it to delete the page numbers from a file to be read aloud by Balabolka. Although the cropped file does not show the page No.s any more, when the file is opened and read in Balabolka other page numbers appear and are read aloud. I assume the file had been previously manipulated. umonti
  • Unbelievable easy to use. It even seems to intelligently detect content that needs to be cropped. It would be nice if the initial exclusion dialog wouldn't auto popup, though.
  • Had a large PDF that printed the text way too small. This program did exactly what I needed so it would print regular sized text.

  • This is a perfect tool for PDF cropping. Cropping with Acrobat takes centuries compared to this tool.
  • The project has been perfectly developed. Thank you guys.
  • 10/10. does exactly what it says it does. More useful and easier than commercial products like Adobe if all you need to do is crop pdf files. And it's free!
  • Great tool, just does what it says. Possible improvements: - add a few levels to the "automatic" mode (e.g. to remove background but keep entire page including header and footer) - integration into PDFSAM?
  • Get the job done. The UI is not very intiutive, but once you have a small grasp, it is awesome. Thank you for this very useful tool!
