Dracoliches (750'), the Lernean Hydra (700'), Jasra (around 400'), 11-headed Hydras (around 600'). "Out of depth" is something of an understatement. > - New flag disturb_view to disturb when a new monster becomes > visible (or nonvisible). Despite trying fairly hard, I couldn't get myself killed by one. > - Revert change to get_check() that made it interpret enter as > "yes" in prompts. This fixes the spellcasting problem but restores the annoying shop behaviour :/ You'll never shut all the complainers up unless you can fix both of these at once. > - Fix arrows of explosion to only explode if they hit. Hey! You've just broken my favourite scumming technique! (Yes, I know it was a bug. But it was a useful one.) > - Make having a chaos patron reduce spell mana costs for chaos > spells. One thing that bugs me about Zangband (and other bands) is the tendency for characters to use equipment which really doesn't match their class. Mages need equipment with big STR and CON boosts, and so they end up using equipment which looks like it's meant for warriors. (And complaining that all the really good equipment is too heavy) In 2.7.3, none of my mages would consider replacing their crown of might with a crown of the magi. (Maybe I bring this on myself by playing spectre trump high mages...) Priests and paladins typically don't end up using holy avengers, because they can use the orb or a dispel spell on anything which a HA slays. Except, of course, for the "dark" priests and paladins with death magic, and these are the types who logically wouldn't touch a HA!! -Mark |
