All z390 PTF v1.3.08c now available for download from z390.sourceforge.net using direct link. For details visit: http://z390.sourceforge.net/z390_Download_Archive.htm This PTF has 2 enhancements: 1. The lz390 linker now supports optional linker command files with suffix LNK containing any number of the following commands: a) INCLUDE DDNAME(name) - default is linkfile.obj b) ALIAS name - default no alias created c) ENTRY name - default is offset 0 in linkfile.obj d) NAME name(R) - default is to create single linkfile.390 The (R) for replace is assumed if not present. The default directory for the LNK command file is the same as the MLC source default directory. ALIAS will generate 390 stub file which simply contains up to 8 character ASCII name of the real 390 program to execute. These stub 390 files contain no OS dependent path characters and are portable between Windows and Linux. The ALIAS and the real 390 program will be located using the path for linkfile or SYS390 directory option setting. This option was used to link the 44 object modules in ASMG into 23 load modules with 3 aliases. 2. The trace options have been consolidated into one option TRACE(AEGLMQTV) where letters represent the following: A - trace az390 assembler creating .TRA file E - trace ez390 instruction execution creating .TRE file G - trace all GETMAIN/FREEMAIN requests on .TRE L - trace lz390 linker creating .TRL file M - trace mz390 macro propcessor creating .TRM file P - trace mz390 macro pseudo code generation/execution creating .TRM file Q - trace all QSAM DCB I/O data transfers on .TRE file T - trace all TCPIO messaging transfers on .TRE file V - trace all VSAM ACB I/O data transfers on .TRE file The existing TRACE option is the same as TRACE(E) and the TRACEALL option is the same as TRACE(AEGLMQTV) All feedback, comments, suggestions, and bug reports welcome. All z390 v1.3.08a PTF now available for download from www.z390.org with fixes to run VSAM regression tests on Linux. The zip with readme is available here now and the web pages on sourceforge have been updated but do not appear to be available online as of 2:30 EST today: http://z390.sourceforge.net/downloads/z390_v1308a_ptf.zip See RPI 713 for list of Linux BAT and PL Perl script updates to successfully run all the VSAM regression tests on Linux. (I should have done more testing on Linux prior to releasing v1308 as the VSAM tests use some new BAT file command options that required updating of the Linux BAT file support scripts.) Also in this PTF are a few other fixes to GUAM TN3270 support and WTOR support for use in CICS. Now it's back to work on next VSAM update including KSDS inserts. As always feedback, suggestions, and bug reports welcome. Don Higgins mailto:do...@hi... http://don.higgins.net |

All z390 release v1.3.08 is now available for download from www.z390.org with new VSAM and CICS compatible support. For details on enhancements and fixes plus download link visit (note links now reflect move of the z390 project to www.sourceforge.net): http://z390.sourceforge.net/z390_Download_Archive.htm The major enhancements in this release include: 1. VSAM support for ESDS, RRDS, VRRDS, and KSDS type files. The KSDS initial support includes REPRO load and unload plus random and skip sequential access by primary key. Run vsam\demo\KSF1RPO1.BAT to load and unload KSDS file from/to ASCII text file with 6 name and address records. Then run vsam\demo\KSF1DEMO and KSF1SKP1 demo programs to access and display the records by key. KSDS alternate index and insert support is in development. For more information on z390 VSAM support and regression tests visit: http://z390.sourceforge.net/z390_VSAM_Compatible_Assembler_Support.htm 2. CICS compatible transaction manager V3 contributed by Melvyn Maltz with VSAM ESDS browse support. Start the server with cics\z390CICG command, then enter transaction BED9 to create ESDS test file for browsing, and then enter CEBR to browse the ESDS file forward and backward with options for EBCDIC, ASCII, and hex record display on the local or remote client TN3270 screen. For more information on z390 CICS compatible local and remote transaction server support including new documentation visit: http://z390.sourceforge.net/z390_EXEC_CICS_Compatible_Assembler_Support.htm 3. New z390 options added with this release for debugging and ease of use are as follows: a. ERRSUM - summarize missing macro and copybook errors (automatic if missing files) b. TRACEQ - trace all QSAM file data transfers via GET, PUT, READ, WRITE macros c. TRACET - trace all TCP/IP send and receive data transfers via TCPIO macros d. TRACEV - trace all VSAM file data transfers via GET, PUT, POINT macros e. VCB - VSAM Cache Buffering option to reduce file I/O (default is on, use NOVCB to disable) 4. The z390 utilities REPRO, SUPERZAP, and UNREF have all been moved to the linklib directory, and the linklib directory has been added to the default search path for loading 390 load modules. In addition 3 batch commands have been added to run the 3 utilities. To run SUPERZAP from GUI or command line, just enter SUPERZAP. To run REPRO just enter REPRO followed by INFILE and OUTFILE file specs as parms. To run UNREF just enter UNREF followed by file name for PRN to scan and produce URF report. 5. Numerous fixes have also been included in this release largely in the VSAM area but also for the GUAM TN3270 support including adjustable screen window size and automatic font size adjustment. Also the long standing issue with PF10 causing unwanted file menu pop-up has been fixed by consuming the event within the J2SE keyboard handler to prevent Windows from adding its own GUI default behavior for PF10. Most of the z390 documentation has all been updated for this release. In addition to the download available with all the PDF files in one zip, the following "Documentation" link on the main www.z390.org web page will take you to this section with links to all the z390 documentation pages: http://z390.sourceforge.net/#z390_Documentation All comments, suggestions, enhancement requests, and problem reports are welcome!
