Dear list members, I just stumbled upon YAML when looking for a renderfarm solution for Blender 3D - one of them used YAML as a format for scene data exchange. What I found really funny when reading the examples of the YAML data structure is that I *just* recently invented a data format of my own for a CMS I'm developing - and hell, it's VERY similar to Yaml - and I didn't know about it at all back then :) Example of an ICMS configuration file: number: 6000 created: 2007-02-11 07:11:49 title: Baustellenstatistik published: yes section: untitled created: 2007-02-11 07:24:39 published: yes image: zeitstrahl1.png thumbnail height: 39 thumbnail width: 200 height: 147 width: 753 link: caption: invisible: yes click to enlarge: no section: untitled1 title: 2001 created: 2007-02-11 07:12:05 published: yes section: untitled2 title: 2002 created: 2007-02-11 07:13:21 published: yes So, be assured - your effort is well worth it (especially considering the bloat XML brings with it...) Cheers, looking forward to the further development and spread of YAML. | alexander ewering instinctive mediaworks | xx-mail.com/instinctive http://www.instinctive.de |
