Just check that the output of > "/proc/asound/cards" is something similar to that described. As I write this email, the guide is quite a lot out of date now that ALSA and xwax have moved on. The steps for Ubuntu will be something like: Install ALSA 10.0.15 or later (to get the Serato interface driver), either a package, or download and compile from http://www.alsa-project.org/ Download and compile the latest release candidate of xwax. Subscribe to the xwax-devel mailing list so you know when these are happening. Right now it is http://www.xwax.co.uk/releases/xwax-0.3rc1.tar.gz Run xwax based on Jono's instructions. You'll need to replace '-d' with 'a' in the xwax command-line for ALSA devices. You could also use shorthand for the devices; eg. sudo ./xwax -l ~/music -a hw:1,0 -a hw:1,1 Remember that this is a 'release candidate' or beta, so if you find any problems it would be great if you can let us know to help the stable release. You need the release candidate to use the snazzy audio interface so you can't use xwax 0.2. > Btw, if someone on the xwax mailing list can confirm that the SL-1 is > now supported under ALSA "out of the box", I can update my guide. > Sorry I haven't been following this list very closely of late! As far as I know, it is. I don't have an interface right now to test, so it would be great if someone can confirm this. Mark |
