Ideally, you shouldn't have to run the memory checks -- we'd do that for you :-) The electric fence option was an option mostly useful for XSB developers so we could make sure we dont overflow anything. Lately, I've been doing my memory checking using Valgrind on linux. At some point I may recheck electric fence vs Valgrind to see whether there's anything electric fence does that Valgrind doesn't -- but for now, I guess its unsupported.
