Category: tv_grab_de_tvtoday Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Stefan Siegl (stesie) Summary: tv_grab_de_tvtoday for non-programmers? Initial Comment: from the bug tracker I can see that the TV grabber for Germany is working again. However, is there a way to get it for non-programmers (win32). The download section still list 5.45 as the latest version. Even if I had perl , I doubt that I could compile it myself as I have never done something like that. I am sure there are others which have similar problems. Cliffs: non-programmers stuck with defunct win32 version of xmltv (de) how to get it working in windows environment? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Robert Eden (rmeden) Date: 2007-05-19 00:10 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=270469 Originator: NO sorry no... but I usually update it when I see a patch posted. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2007-05-18 11:49 Message: Logged In: NO Is there a way to find out that alpha-exe.xmltv.org has been updated without downloading it? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Richard (rtbl2) Date: 2007-04-23 15:06 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1529701 Originator: NO Hi Robert, quite honestly I don't feel in the same league as those like yourself who write and maintain the grabbers. The only useful function that I perform is to translate the various mails to the XMLTV and FreeGuide development groups into something that non PERL and Java programmers like myself can understand. What most people seem to want to know is, what can be received with which grabber, and what can they do to satisfy their own requirements. For example my question about the Belgian grabber which has existed for ages but is as far as I can see, not very useful in GUI mode as it doesn't have any scroll bars so that you can't say YES to the "all" option. Selecting programs one by one is not an option as you have to know the channel names in advance. I think this is not unimportant as this grabber covers half of Europe. If you have any suggestions as to what I could contribute to the Wiki, do let me know, but in any case you are always welcome to take or use anything from site and use it in any way that you wish. As a matter of information, the site is currently getting about 1200 page hits per month from all over the world, (I was rather perturbed to get a visit from MICROSOFT Redmond yesterday !!) So your software has many admirers. Robert ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Richard (rtbl2) Date: 2007-04-23 11:22 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1529701 Originator: NO It was for exactly this reason that I started my website for XMLTV and FreeGuide WINDOWS users. I found it frustrating that the available info, although readily available, was so fragmented. I always post a version of both FreeGuide and XMLTV including channel ids. hope this helps, Richard http://www.kudos.byethost15.com/freeguide/ ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Richard (rtbl2) Date: 2007-04-23 11:20 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1529701 Originator: NO It was for exactly this reason that I started my website for XMLTV and FreeGuide WINDOWS users.
