ok - I have done some fixes but it still doesn't work - it's your turn now

but I don't think these features are really needed for 0.9.7 so I'll
release now anyway.

BTW: maybe we could extend this to some kind of info/help window? Maybe
adding another (or more other) tab(s) to display some kind of online-help
(README, FAQ) ? And add a "?" button to the panel to pop up this window?

just an idea.
