looks like a terribly broken installation. You probably installed
RH7.1-RPMs on this system. Compiling the source RPM (or source
tarball) should fix most of the trouble.
Upgrading to 7.1, or even to any less crappy distibution (Slackware or
Debian come to my mind) would probably solve even more...
At least XFree 4.0.2 would be a good thing as well.
