	There is not "miracle" here (i know french ;-) ), this old, cheap,
then dead laptop (RIP) was able to playback some mpeg1 streams, mostly 
well, without jerkyness (yes, really). Of course, trying to playback
some
vob, or mp3 streams wasn't really possible (at least for eyes and
hears).

Voila l'explication ;-)
