Category: xine-lib Group: v1.1.1 >Status: Closed >Resolution: Invalid Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: intelligo (intelligo) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Xine unable to play from Samba share Initial Comment: I've seen this problem posted around but not found a solid answer: In SUSE 10.0 OSS, with the Kaffeine frontend for Xine 1.1.1, I am unable to play audio files (mp3) from a remote Samba server share. I can otherwise connect to and manipulate the share, but when I try to play mp3s from the share using Kaffeine/Xine I get a message that there is "No plugin to handle this resource," indicating an "smb" resource. I have tried to use the "Open Directory" feature in Kaffeine, but I get the same message. When I copy the mp3s to my local machine, Kaffeine has no problem playing the files. Is this a bug, or do I have to specify the Samba share path somehow in Xine's parameter settings?
