Category: a/v sync problem Group: v1.1.1 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Josiah Barber (josiah_barber) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: xine-lib >= 1.1.1 has audio sync problems Initial Comment: I haven't done an extensive study on what files / formats cause the problem, but I have narrowed it down to versions 1.1.1 and 1.1.2. So I now use 1.1.0 and don't have the problem. When watching movies, either from DVD or from video files, the audio tends to be out of sync. It drove me crazy until I found out how to adjust the sync with the 'm' and 'n' keys. I also had the problem when listening to audio files. Obviously there is no video to sync with, but the problem was that it would cut off the first 1 or 2 seconds of the songs. A lot of tracks have silence at the beginning so it didn't matter, but some start right at the begining and it was really annoying. I'm sorry I can't be more specific. If you need me to, I can uninstall 1.1.0 and re-install 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 and do some more experimenting to see if it happens with 100% of audio files in 100% of the audio formats, and if it happens to all movies and what-not. Right now I can't answer those questions. I run Gentoo on an Athlon-64 laptop in 64-bit mode. I noticed the problem using xine-lib-1.1.2-r2 from portage (gentoo's package management system), but I uninstalled that and installed directly from your sources for 1.1.2, 1.1.1, and 1.1.0. Of those, only 1.1.0 doesn't have the problem. Let me know if there's anything else I can do to help you track down the problem. For now I am using 1.1.0. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Miguel Freitas (miguelfreitas) Date: 2007-01-28 20:59 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=148691 Originator: NO This bug entry is believed to be fixed in CVS.
