Same setup, same movie clip... hummm ... this sounds like the new architecture looses some performance on low-end machines ... I think we'll need some fine-tuning here. It'd be interesting to know if these drop rates get better with time since the 0.4.x series doesn't do pre-buffering yet (BTW: there is no xine 4.0.1 ;)). BTW: are these skipped or discarded frames? Anyway, there's still hope: the new libmpeg2 looks faster to me, we'll have pre-buffering again soon, and there are quite a few "magic numbers" in the code to do some fine-tuning. Cheers, Guenter |
