Category: subtitle decoding Group: current cvs version Status: Open Resolution: Postponed Priority: 5 Submitted By: James Slorach (jrs47) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: DVD subtitles incorrectly rendered with low res video Initial Comment: xine renders DVD subtitles incorrectly when the horizontal resolution of the video is not 720 pixels (704 and 352 pixels per line are also valid resolutions for DVD). I have a DVD like this (came with Newtype USA magazine vol 2 issue 3 (March 2003)). This DVD has a resolution of 352x480. The subtitles on this DVD appear distorted (stretched too wide and going off the right hand side of the picture). Here is a snapshot showing a subtitle: http://janx.org/xine_vidres-1.png Here is an excerpt from the DVD in question (5MB): http://janx.org/xine_vidres.vob The subtitles appear correctly on my standalone DVD player. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2005-12-25 19:06 Message: Logged In: NO any progress to make this work ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Michael Roitzsch (mroi) Date: 2004-10-08 08:24 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=552060 This will require subpicture scaling and I doubt that this will be implemented in the near future. However, this bug item is important to remember us. Thanks for posting.
