Category: gxine Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Assigned to: Darren Salt (dsalt) Summary: what is prefix libjs ? Initial Comment: my output of './configure --help' is: ---cut------------- --with-xine-prefix=DIR prefix where XINE is installed (optional) --with-xine-exec-prefix=DIR exec prefix where XINE is installed (optional) prefix where libjs/libsmjs is installed Some influential environment variables: ----cut---------- I'm missing something. How do I set the prefix of the libjs path ? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Darren Salt (dsalt) Date: 2005-12-23 22:53 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=294680 I've added a section to the INSTALL file about where to copy/link the browser plugin. I've also added /usr/{local/,}/lib/firefox/js to the list of locations to be checked for the JS lib; and yes, pkgconfig REALLY needs to be used for this. Looking in Debian's mozilla-dev and mozilla-thunderbird-dev packages, I see that both have pkgconfig files for their JS libraries; however, there isn't one in libsmjs-dev. So I can currently only add one pkgconfig test (mozilla-dev). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Darren Salt (dsalt) Date: 2005-12-23 18:35 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=294680 --with-spidermonkey=PATH Does your Firefox installation not look in /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox? BTW, about that patch - it's useful as a pointer but useless as something to be applied for inclusion in CVS since it patches *generated* files. If you alter configure, make sure that you supply a patch against configure.ac; if you alter aclocal.m4, make sure that you supply a patch against the appropriate file(s) in m4/. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Dagmar d'Surreal (evildagmar) Date: 2005-12-23 10:54 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1167677 libjs is libjs.so which you will find in /usr/lib/{mozilla,firefox}. The configure script really, really could use a conversion to the use of pkgconfig. Quick patch to make it build against Firefox (installed in /usr/lib/firefox): http://www.droplinegnome.org/home/dagmar/gxine-0.5.2-firefoxplugin.diff Note that it will still put gxineplugin.so into /usr/lib/gxine instead of somewhere the browser will see it. Don't forget to copy it to the "right" place or use something like the following when you install: make GXINE_PLUGINPATH=/usr/lib/firefox/plugins install-strip ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=109655&aid=1388725&group_id=9655 |
