Bugs item #1044155, was opened at 2004-10-10 20:44 Message generated for change (Comment added) made by maxx1024 You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=109655&aid=1044155&group_id=9655 Category: FreeBSD specific Group: current cvs version >Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: MaXX (maxx1024) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Error compiling xine-lib-1-rc6a on FreeBSD5.3-BETA7 Initial Comment: Good afternoon, On my FreeBSD 5.3-BETA7 I just downloaded xine-lib-1-rc6a.tar.gz on xine's website (10/10/04 PM), untar'd it an tried to build it. ./configure stops with the following error: # ./configure < snip > checking for ssize_t... yes checking for dlopen in -lc... yes checking libdir name... lib checking whether lrintf is declared... no checking for int_fast8_t... yes checking for mlib_VideoAddBlock_U8_S16 in -lmlib... no ./configure.lineno: 25835: Syntax error: Bad substitution # then I tried to run ./configure --disable-mlib without more success... *Did I missed some dependencies ('cause the checking for mlib_VideoAddBlock_U8_S16 in -lmlib... gives a NO), a line in the README or something else?? *I use a 5.3-BETA7 built on 2/10/04 downloaded yesterday morning, and installed KDE3.3 (+all dependencies) from packages *not ports!* (list follows). Since this version doesn't use XFree86-4 but the new XORG, can it be the problem? Thanks in advance, if you need something more about this contact me. MaXX P.S.: I hope my english's not too bad... -------------------------------System Detail-------------------------------------- ----uname -a --- FreeBSD tetsuo.lan 5.3-BETA7 FreeBSD 5.3-BETA7 #0: Sat Oct 2 21:01:00 UTC 2004 ro...@wv...msco.home:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC i386 Note: machine is a P4 2.4Ghz 512Mb ram ----Full Package List --- # ls /var/db/pkg ORBit-0.5.17_2 libmal-0.40 OpenEXR-1.2.1 libmikmod-3.1.11 aalib-1.4.r5_1 libmng-1.0.8 arts-1.3.0,1 libmusicbrainz-2.1.1 artswrapper-1.2.1 libogg-1.1,3 aspell-0.60_2 libtunepimp-0.3.0_1 autoconf-2.59_2 libungif-4.1.3 automake-1.9.1 libvorbis-1.0.1,3 bitmap-fonts-1.0 libxml-1.8.17_2 bitstream-vera-1.10 libxml2-2.6.13 cups-base-1.1.20.0 libxslt-1.1.10 docbook-sk-4.1.2_3 m4-1.4.1 docbook-xml-4.2_1 nas-1.6 docbook-xsl-1.65.1 net-snmp-5.1.2_1 esound-0.2.35_1 open-motif-2.2.3 expat-1.95.8 openldap-client-2.2.15 fam-2.6.9_6 openssl-0.9.7d_1 flac-1.1.0_3 p5-XML-Parser-2.34_1 fontconfig-2.2.3,1 pcre-4.5 freetype2-2.1.7_3 perl-5.8.5 fribidi-0.10.4_1 pilot-link-0.11.8_3 gdk-pixbuf-0.22.0_1 pkgconfig-0.15.0_1 gettext-0.13.1_1 png-1.2.6 ghostscript-gnu-7.07_11 qt-3.3.3 glib-1.2.10_11 rc_subr-1.31 glib-2.4.6_1 samba-libsmbclient-3.0.7_1 gnomehier-1.0_19 scrollkeeper-0.3.14_1,1 gnomelibs-1.4.2_2 sdl-1.2.7_2,1 gnupg-1.2.6 sdocbook-xml-4.1.2.5_2 gsfonts-8.11_2 smpeg-0.4.4_3 gtk-1.2.10_12 smpeg-xmms-0.3.5_2 imake-6.7.0_2 speex-1.0.4,1 imlib-1.9.14_4 svgalib-1.4.3_4 intltool-0.31.2 t1lib-5.0.1,1 jasper-1.701.0 taglib-1.2 jpeg-6b_3 tiff-3.6.1_2 kdeaccessibility-3.3.0 unzip-5.51 kdeadmin-3.3.0 xmlcatmgr-2.1 kdeartwork-3.3.0 xmms-1.2.10 kdebase-3.3.0_2 xmms-kde-3.1_2 kdegames-3.3.0 xmps-0.2.0_2 kdelibs-3.3.0_2 xmps-win32-plugin-0.0.4_4 kdemultimedia-mpeglib_artsplug-3.3.0 xorg-fonts-100dpi-6.7.0 kdepim-3.3.0 xorg-fonts-75dpi-6.7.0 kdeutils-3.3.0 xorg-fonts-encodings-6.7.0 lcms-1.13,1 xorg-fonts-miscbitmaps-6.7.0 libXft-2.1.6 xorg-fonts-truetype-6.7.0 libart_lgpl2-2.3.16 xorg-fonts-type1-6.7.0 libaudiofile-0.2.6 xorg-fontserver-6.7.0 libglut-6.0.1 xorg-libraries-6.7.0_2 libgnugetopt-1.2 xorg-server-6.7.0_9 libiconv-1.9.2_1 xpdf-3.00_3 libidn-0.5.4 zip-2.3_1 libmad-0.15.1b ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: MaXX (maxx1024) Date: 2004-10-13 17:36 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1136525 I tried with --disable-ffmpegtest but I receive exactly the same error... The configure script seems OK (no scramble, nor strange looking things, I'm not programmer but this seems normal for me) See the attached configure. I'll download a new tarball and re-update my ports and sources, may the problem comes from there (broken port, missing lines in make.conf,...). Since my FreeBSD is a BETA version there is probably some little bugs spread all around the system... i'll keep you informed, and thanks for your reply. --- MaXX ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Michael Roitzsch (mroi) Date: 2004-10-13 13:08 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=552060 I cannot see anything wrong with line 25835 in the configure script. Maybe you got a broken tarball and the file is corrupt? As a workaround, you could try the config option --disable-ffmpegtest.
