Your patches to 1.1.19 may not apply to 1.2 once it gets changed to any significant degree. Version 1.1.19 does an extremely poor job of reading movie DVD's, something I want to do with it. It will crash when you try to open the video content on about half of the disks you try with it. A casual look at the traceback suggests that a buffer overflow is occurring in the routines which handle captions and subtitles and these are invoked even if you do not ask for subtitles. VLC is much more reliable but I prefer the interface in Xine-UI and it handles the on-disk menus better than VLC. Before I got too involved, I wanted to find out if anyone was already working on this. Mike |
