Xine currently assumes ~/.xine/channels.conf; it doesn't change the 
filename to match the tuner type.

I suppose that a sane(ish) fix would be to provide a configuration 
parameter to provide the directory name, then try channels.conf.(type} 
and channels.conf in that directory. It's beyond what we need here 
though, but if someone coded up the filename changing bit, I'd add the 
code to set the directory name.
