[xine-user] How to back out of an install?

Hi folks,

Ok, so things are hunky-dory  with configure. 
It ran like a charm for installation and did it's thing and put 
everything in /usr/local.

But that was a mistake on my part. I wanted to install to /opt as I 
usually do using the option --prefix=/opt. But having used it in 
all my previous failed attempts (missing dependancies etc) I forgot 
to add it this time and it worked beautifully. So I'm stuck with 
a /usr/local install unless I can back out of it some way.

The simplest thing would probably be to remove and reinstall but I 
can't find a remove option or script. Is there such a thing for the 
tarball (v. xine-lib-1.1.1)?
