I built xine-lib-1.1.1 over the weekend and this sounds similar to the problem I had: The xine-lib configuration was disabling Xv support entirely. This resulted in it defaulting to OpenGL for output. On my system OpenGL is extremely unstable at the moment, leading to blank windows and a server crash before I figured out what was going on. At first it appeared to be due to libXvMCW not being present, so I installed that (BTW libXvMCW does not honor "--prefix", so don't even get me started on what a pain in the ass that was). This still didn't solve the problem, though. I had to explicitly tell xine-lib's configure script to look in /usr/X11R6/lib for libXv and possibly libXvMC. That seemed to do the trick and now it's working. Some configure options may be sufficient (you might not need libXvMCW). Unfortunately I don't have all of my notes handy so I don't recall exactly what options I gave it in the end. -Dave Dodge |
