Hi, this is something else then. Also I confused chaptewr ant title. Perhaps the DVD has a small error where PowerDVD jumps over and xine hangs. This could be a feature request, that xine or libdvdread ignores small errors in the DVD and continues reading. Video DVDs contain a normal iso file system which can be found on any cdrom. Without googling, I don't know if there is a tool for checking iso-filesystems under linux (something like fsck.iso9660). Using this youy could verryfy if something is wrong with the dvd. You could also try: md5sum -c /dev/dvd If it quits with a read error you know that the DVD is broken. If it returns a checksum, you know as much as before, as you don't know what the checksum should be. Greetings Felix Am Donnerstag, 28.
