Hello again, I just searched the archives and saw Manfreds reply. Sorry - I never saw that in the first place. But I did read it today of course. I am attempting to get the sound on the analog plugs and not pass it through on the SPDIF. I have it setup so that: speaker-test -c6 plays correctly. However when I use what Manfred requested: speaker-test -Dplug:surround51 -c6 then it doesn't play correctly. FL plays FL C plays RL FR plays FR RR plays LFE RL plays C LFE plays RR and xine still says that the sound device is unavailable when 5.1 sound comes up. Sigh...... Where do I go from here?
