I'm trying to install Xine using Yast from within Suse 9.0. I have downloaded and installed all of the RPMs listed at http://cambuca.ldhs.cetuc.puc-rio.br/~jcm/skyblade/XINE-0.9.13/i686.RPMs/ There doesn't seem to be any conflicts or dependency issues. When trying to play a DVD movie with Xine I get the following message: "Xine Engine Error. There is no demuxer plugin available to handle '/tmp/kde-mark/Desktop-0/CD-R 2.desktop' Usually this means the file format was not recognized." The Stream Format tab also shows the following: Xine: Couldn't find demuxer for >tmp/kde-mark/Desktop-0/CD-R 2.desktop< Using input plugin file for MRL'tmp/kde-mark/Desktop-0/CD-R 2.desktop' libmpeg2: frame size is 592x488 Using video decoder plugin 'mpeg2dec' System layer format 'MPEG_ELEM' detected Using input plugin 'file' for MRL "file:///usr/share/xine/skins/xine_logo.mpv I must admit that I'm new to Linux and so far, have been unable to install any new programs on my system. So don't assume that I know anything when giving instructions. thanks, Mark Maus |
