Most likely, you have hit a version of RealVideo or WMV that's too new for xine to support natively. Installing win32 DLLs may help in that case. If you give us some MRLs of the actual stream, we can verify this. The version of xine-lib (and xine-ui) is also important. You should be using something recent, such as xine-lib 1-rc3a and xine-ui 0.9.23. If so, try to run xine --bug-report=MRL (replacing "MRL" with the actuall stream you want to play) and send us the resulting BUG-REPORT.TXT! This should contain helpful debugging information.
