Using external subtitles, the previously experienced delay of starting the movie is gone. Unfortunately, the delay on seeking is still there. This delay (in case you developers haven't experienced) goes like this: one frame (maybe the first frame where the new position started) is frozen for several seconds while the sound goes on, then the picture catches up suddenly synced with the sound.
