Sir, I have down loaded xine-lib-1-rc1 but ./configaration output is showing error:configaration:error:no acceptable C compiler found in the $PATH As I am new to linux 9(shrike)please help me to resolve the problem. More over I do not know any one who can solve my problem. Please help me. Your's, Umamaheswar B.C. > [root@localhost xine-lib-1-rc1]# ./configure > checking build system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu > checking host system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu > checking target system type... i686-pc-linux-gnu > checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c > checking whether build environment is sane... yes > checking for gawk... gawk > checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes > checking for style of include used by make... GNU > checking for gcc... no > checking for cc... no > checking for cc... no > checking for cl... no > configure: error: no acceptable C compiler found in $PATH P.S One more problem: Some where I read that i386 has been disabled in Linux 9, is that so. If that is the case please guide me as to where I ca get the plug in and how to reinstall i386 Thanks __________________________________________________________________ GCC has to be installed for Xine to install. Go to System Settings, in the menu, and select Add/Remove Applications. Then go to Kernel development. Select Kernel Development and then click on details. then select GCC or just select everything that is there, because eventually you might need everything that is there. Then click on update. It will let you know if there are any dependencies and what CD you will need. That should fix your problem Mike |
