-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello, I have a problem getting xine to work with ac3 5.1 channels on some of my DVDs. Several but not all DVDs fail to work with any 5.1 output at all resulting in two errors: - - error message on stderr: audio_alsa_out: channels count non available - - display of "??" as audio channel number in GUI of xine-ui 2.0 PCM Stereo does work. I also noticed that the failing DVDs lack a decent header on disc to be displayed with libdvdnav, i.e. DVD Title, DVD Title (Alternative), so it might have something to do with the DVD not being "compatible" somehow Some DVDs that work fine with 5.1 support : - - The Cranberries: Beneath The Skin - Live In Paris (my neighbours and I are just listening to this one now :-) - - The Corrs: Live at Landsdowne Road Some DVDs that don't work with 5.1 support: - - The Corrs: MTV Unplugged - - Mozart: Cosi Fan Tutte (Zurich:Harnoncourt, Bartoli et. al.) Needless to say that all of these DVDs do fine on my "el cheapo" stand-alone DVD player as well as with PowerDVD on that most current evil OS from Redmond WA. ** system: SuSE-8.2 professional updated to SuSE's current versions with some additions mainly from http://packman.links2linux.de/ on i686 sound: SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 player with ALSA emu10k1 (SuSE version as well as current 0.9.6 releases) and various versions of a52dec tested xine versions: any of libxine1 since 1.0-beta10, as well as current cvs-versions until today. All versions were optained as SRPMS / RPMS from http://packman.links2linux.de/ and their cvs-snapshots (no difference between self compiled versions and pre-packed) Any hints?
