If you're using the Freshrpms packages (which by the way are very good packages) and have issues with RPM oddities, you'll be better off if you could read the instructions on the Freshrpms site carefully, install apt and use it to install/update xine automatically. With apt, it's as simple as running: apt-get install xine Then you only need to install the QT stuff by hand, but the xine RPMs will be installed for you by apt.
