Hello PPl, installing xine was probably not much of an issue till it finally got installed. These are the settings that i have at the moment 1.xine and xine-ui (version 0.9.8)have been installed in /usr/local/xine /usr/local/xine-ui --->while installing xine i used the --prefix option to point it to the above directories. 2.My config files are located in /root/.xine ISSUES: 1.The first issue is when i try and play xine from the term, i get the standard command not found error. The path /usr/local/xine-ui/bin/xine has been included in my path variable. Moreover I have also included this path in my .bash_profile path and have run the'source' command thereafter. No Luck!!! 2.When i run xine i woant to be able to load my shared folder(/mnt/share/SharedFolder) which has my mp3's and mpegs. I click on mrl browser icon (://)..it shows me ./ ../ xine* xine-bugreport* xine-check* however when i click on ../ to navigate to the shared folder nothing happens. In the xine config file_origin_path is set to /usr/local/xine-ui/bin. I have tried changing this in the config file, however when i open xine the default path sets itself back to /usr/local/xine-ui/bin. All i want to do is load the directory and play files, instead of having to play one file at a time from the command line. Thanking you in advance for all the help. Cheers, Sid. |
