No fix yet. I'd be very very glad with more input on this issue though.

I'm looking into this problem already but getting only slowly along (very 
little time and it's unknown territory for me as wel).
I was basically triggered because I was working oxine to get it working
again with dxr3.

I posted something yesterday on both oxine-devel and xine-devel about the osd 
issue but got no replies so far. I was hoping for some ideas on this issue.

More news to follow later on oxine-devel and in case xine related on 
xine-devel list too.
