So, on my Red Hat 7.2 system which i use as a media player in my living room :-) i installed a DXR3 card. It seems to work fine, at least when doing cat file.m2v > /dev/em8300_mv To make better use of it, i decided to upgrade xine from 0.9.13 (which has worked for a long time without any problems) to the latest 1-beta9 and xine-ui-0.9.20. Since RH 7.2 doesn't have GTK2 i couldn't install gxine, but that's ok for the moment. Problem is, the latest xine does not work _at_all_ on RH 7.2 First off, it chokes even when launching it, probably because it tries to play the logo file (see some recent messages i've sent). I removed the logo, and now i can launch xine and run the configuration utility. But that's all i can do. No matter what i try to play, it freezes solid - totally unresponsive, CTRL-C does nothing, etc. I have to 'kill -9' it, otherwise it won't go away. See attached files for console output in a few cases (some parts are censored for non-technical reasons). The problem appears no matter what -V or -A i try. Let me know what else i can do to help you guys debug it. -- Florin Andrei http://florin.myip.org/ |
