I'm making another effort at trying to get xine to work on my Mandrake 9 = box. Before i started installing anything i removed the directories = which were created by unzipping the tar.gz archives in my home = directory. That was very annoying as some folders couldn't be deleted = using the home browser, so i had to do it in the console and pressing = 'y' about 200 times to if i wanted to delete a file (any clues on how to = avoid this annoyance in future?) anyway i digress.. I unpacked the lib archive to my home directory, as a user i then did = the ./configure which went well as did make. I then change to root to = send the command make all install. This seemed to work fine so i then = changed back to user and unpacked the ui file. Did the ./configure = command which did produce a lot of messages about nothing to do. Then i = sent the make command and things went wrong. It also produced a lot of = nothing to do errors but also a lot of parse errors - about 300 lines of = them. This is the start of where the errors went wrong - i didn't wanna = send the whole lot because there is quite a few lines to it. c1: warning: changing search order for system directory = "/usr/local/include" cc1: warning: as it has already been specified as a non-system = directory xscreensaver-remote.c:33:49: X11/Xproto.h: No such file or directory xscreensaver-remote.c:34:22: X11/Xlib.h: No such file or directory xscreensaver-remote.c:35:23: X11/Xatom.h: No such file or directory xscreensaver-remote.c:36:58: X11/Xutil.h: No such file or directory xscreensaver-remote.c:37:21: X11/Xos.h: No such file or directory xscreensaver-remote.c:45: parse error before "XA_VROOT" If you need any more information please do ask - i'm fairly new to linux = and xine so go easy with me. Thanks for your time Matt |
