It's quite possible that I got it wrong, what is XINE_VO_ASPECT_SQUARE
supposed to signify? That the pixels are square or that the displayed
frame size should be square?

I'll check that the new code works as expected (it's supposed to add
black borders to the top and bottom of the video for displaying subtitles
outside of the frame in fullscreen.)
