David Holm wrote the dxr3 code for mplayer.  He did a lot of work with
the kernel driver as well that has benefitted Xine.  I don't believe any
other mplayer developers have access to a dxr3, not nearly as many as
Xine developers in any case.

More people are starting to use mplayer with a dxr3 now.  Probably
because it's easier to use from the command line.
