Any/All, I have a desire to use xine to make a kiosk of sorts. I was attempting to modify gxine to show mere images as well as videos. I attempted to use gtk_image_new_from_file <http://developer.gnome.org/doc/API/2.0/gtk/GtkImage.html#gtk-image-new- from-file> and discovered that it was not supported because gxine is using gtk 1.2. Bear in mind that I am a bit of a newbie coding in c with glib and gtk etc, so my questions may be rather "stupid." How do I modify that project to use gtk 2.0? Is that a large task? Would I be better off creating a separate library? Or even better, does anyone have any sample code to add a gif, jpg or png to a widget in gtk 1.2? Is there a good link to answer questions like these? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
