Now that is really strange! This is definitely not a RTLD_GLOBAL 
problem as I thought before. Here on my system, the dxr3 vo_out is 
linked to:

        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x80000000)
        libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x40273000)

As you can see, on your system, the dxr3 vo_out plugin is linked at 
compile time against the alsa libs. I have no idea, how this should 
happen.
Could you please check with ldd, whether any other plugins are linked 
against alsa? You could also check, if the Makefile.am in src/dxr3 of 
your xine tree is identical to the one in cvs.
