hi stephen, ... let's bring this back online to xine-devel. > > installed here - while there is an extra autoconf2.13 package ... all > > very confusing to me :-/ > > > > ...debian notices that autoconf2.13 is obsolute - so maybe it is really > > time to switch to something newer? > > I believe most distributions contain: > > autoconf >= 2.52 > automake >= 1.4 > libtool >= 1.4.0 oki, if we don't hear any major objections now i guess it's time to switch to these newer versions. > > sorry again for the little attention you got, > > No problem. I will wait to hear from Daniel. actually i haven't heard from him for a while now - not sure what he's up to at the moment. maybe it'd be a good idea if you'd provide some patches against current cvs that show what you're doing currently. btw: there are two items on the todo list for the xine makefiles, not sure if you could do anything about them: - merge xine-utils into libxine (so xine will come as a single library with only one .so version number). one aproach would be to move the source files from xine-utils to xine-engine, but maybe there's a better way so the utils sources could stay in their own subdir - add an arm compile target, the handheld guys need this (i'll cc this mail to max who requested this - apparently he will provide a patch for this soon) > Do we have a irc channel for talking > about xine development? you can come to #xine on irc.openprojects.net, i've been there quite often recently ("gooofy") but unfortunately there's not much going on in that channel. cheers, guenter -- A day without sunshine is like night. |
