This should not happen. As you may know, xine includes libdvdnav now, but checks for an already installed one and uses it if it pleases. It should only use versions of libdvdnav greater or equal 0.1.3. Which one have you installed? What does 'dvdnav-config --version' say? I suppose you may have some mixture installed (or my configure hacking was wrong ;). Of course a possible (but rather rude) solution would be to completely uninstall libdvdnav, xine will use it's internal copy then.
