Well, I have one (in fact, two) videos encoded MSMPEG4V1/2 that were not playable without this patch and now, with it, they are. I have no idea if they were generated with ffmpeg or not, but I'd guess that they weren't, given the site where I got them from. In any case, I think that with this patch, at least the xine glue to ffmpeg would be one step closer to being correct and it would be worth to have it in the tree. That way, should any problems get discovered, it will be only a matter of updating ffmpeg later. > i have been in contact with Fabrice Bellard from ffmpeg tring to reduce > the changes needed to sync with their cvs, so hopefully future updates > will be easier and more frequent. Oh, that would be quite nice. I was scared at first of upgrading xine's support of ffmpeg, which I was the reason I asked here first. Good that you updated it. :-) Anyway, it seems that ffmpeg is making quite some progress and judging from comments from their CVS, it may now play even WM1 files, which is a wonder, given that people without x86 platforms would be able to play yet another bunch of files. I hope that xine 0.9.12 (not 0.9.11) gets this newer update. :-) Thanks, Roger... --=20 =3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D= -=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D Rog=E9rio Brito - rb...@in... - http://www.ime.usp.br/~rbrito/ =3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D= -=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D-=3D |
