Hi! This plugin lets you view DVD movies encoded for NTSC output. It will detect and invert 3:2 pulldown. This lets you view these movies without the interlace artefacts caused by the pulldown. This is better then using the deinterlacer built into xine, because: - It does not cause degradation of the picture quality - Playing will be smoother and will not have a stuttering appearance You can download the source from: http://www.inf.bme.hu/~mszeredi/advd/advd-1.0.tar.gz Or get the binary plugin compiled for xine version 0.9.8: http://www.inf.bme.hu/~mszeredi/advd/xineplug_decode_mpv.so To use the plugin, simply copy it to the xine plugin directory (/usr/local/lib/xine/plugins/ or /usr/lib/xine/plugins/) Before you start xine, you should set the MPV_PLUGIN_PRIORITY environment variable to 2. E.g. for bash: export MPV_PLUGIN_PRIORITY=2 or for csh: setenv MPV_PLUGIN_PRIORITY 2 For more info see the README file: http://www.inf.bme.hu/~mszeredi/advd/00_README Cheers, Miklos |
