With Naviter announcing their new GPS with an rs232 input I started digging around looking for the hardware. Clearly Naviter isn't having these devices built exclusively for them. I did not find a 4.3" device, but I did find a few different 7" devices that include an RS232 port running WinCE 5.0. I'm guessing that this could be configured to work with XCSoar. The screen resolution is higher than a typical PNA so I don't know what impact that would have on XCSoar and if it would need to be recompiled to natively support the higher resolution. Has anyone experimented along these lines yet? The devices are around $350 US it would appear, though I have only found a single source so far. I was interested in seeing if this could be made to integrate with a Cambridge L-Nav/GPS Nav or if anyone had already pursued this activity. Here is an example device: http://www.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=5801834 Morgan |
