Category: Monitoring Group: 2.6 Status: Closed Resolution: Accepted Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Bin Li (liblib) Assigned to: Lissa Valletta (lissav) Summary: eventlog cannot be edited Initial Comment: The eventlog tab cannot be edited,so I don't know how to clear the data in this table. It gets larger and larger. bash-3.2# tabedit eventlog The auditlog and eventlog tables may not be edited. Editing will cause index regeneration. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Lissa Valletta (lissav) Date: 2011-02-25 15:11 Message: You must use tabprune on any tables that are defined with automatic generated record ids. If you use tabedit and then save all the record ids will be regeneated to new numbers on the save. This is why we have the new command. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: SourceForge Robot (sf-robot) Date: 2011-02-25 14:20 Message: This Tracker item was closed automatically by the system. See tabdump -d site. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Lissa Valletta (lissav) Date: 2011-01-28 16:26 Message: The eventlog and auditlog are changed using the tabprune command. I can add that to the message ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Ling Gao (linggao) Date: 2011-01-28 13:32 Message: Hi Bin, It is designed this way. You can tel from the message. # tabedit eventlog The auditlog and eventlog tables may not be edited. Editing will cause index regeneration. Why do you want to edit the eventlog table? It is supposed to be readonly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Guang Cheng Li (ligc) Date: 2011-01-28 13:17 Message: Lissa, I know that you added the eventlog and auditlog tables, I am not sure why we designed to not allow tabedit to edit the eventlog and auditlog tables? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Bin Li (liblib) Date: 2011-01-28 10:40 Message: Guang Cheng, tabprune can clean the data and it works well. But tabedit cannot be used in this table even if there are few records. Is it possible to be designed for this? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Guang Cheng Li (ligc) Date: 2011-01-28 07:31 Message: Li Bin, tabprune can be used clean the eventlog table and auditlog table. I guess the reason why you can not edit eventlog table is that the table is too big and tabedit respond very slow. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=1006945&aid=3166908&group_id=208749 |
